BLM Disposal Boundary: What is the BLM Disposal Boundary?

The disposal boundary was originally designated in 1998 under the SNPLMA to address concerns over federal management of lands in an urbanizing area. It originally authorized the BLM to dispose of approximately 52,000 acres of public lands located within a specific boundary in the Las Vegas valley. Title IV of the Clark County Act of 2002 amended the SNPLMA to increase the boundary by approximately 22,000 acres.
