D.B.A./Fictitious Firm Name: Do I need a D.B.A. (Doing Business As) or Fictitious Firm Name?

If your business name is anything other than your legal given name, you will need to file a Fictitious Firm Name form with the Clark County Clerk's office. If you are an entity and your business name is anything other than your exact legal entity name, you will need to file a Fictitious Firm Name form with the Clark County Clerk's office. You will need to file the Fictitious Firm Name prior to obtaining a business license. In addition, please note that some banks will not allow you to open a business account without filing the Fictitious Firm Name.
