Dash Cam/Body Worn Camera Videos or Photos?: How do I inspect or purchase Dash Cam or Body Worn Camera Videos or Photos?

A request to inspect a Dash Cam or Body Worn Camera Videos or Photos recording must be made using the City of Henderson Dash Cam or Body Worn Camera Videos or Photos Public Records Request. Requests must be made on a per incident basis. Completed Dash Cam or Body Worn Camera Videos Public Records Request Forms may be submitted either in-person, via email, or standard mail, to the Henderson Police Department Public Information Unit. Specific instructions on the process for requesting Dash Cam or Body Worn Camera Videos or Photos recordings are contained on the Request Form or by submitting a request, below using Contact Henderson.

There is no cost to inspect a Dash Cam or Body Worn Camera Videos or Photos but we recommend you inspect the Dash Cam or Body Worn Camera Videos before you purchase. However, it is not required. You will be responsible for all costs for redactions if a request for a copy is made without inspection. You will only pay for the redaction of the officers faces which are considered confidential pursuant to NRS 289.025. The cost of the MAV will vary, depending on the redactions, number of Dash Cam or Body Worn Camera Videos or Photos associated with the incident and the length of the footage.

Due to technical issues in preparing a Dash Cam or Body Worn Camera Videos or Photos recording for inspection and the availability of City personnel to monitor the inspection, requests for inspection may not be available within 5 business days. Notwithstanding, the City will use its best efforts to grant a requestor the right to inspect a recording that is a public record within 5 days.
