Increased water use: Can someone from the City help me determine the cause of my water consumption increase?

Listed below are a variety of causes can be responsible for increased water consumption at a property.

Increased spray irrigation to landscaping during the spring and summer explains many cases of increased water use. Check your irrigation clock to see if it is scheduled to water more frequently than intended, or to see if your landscaper may have adjusted the programs for warmer weather.

A stuck automatic pool fill or irrigation valve will also result in an increase in water consumption. An undiscovered leak is another frequent culprit responsible for a sudden increase in water consumption.

You are encouraged to learn how to check for leaks by viewing the SNWA video Detecting and Silencing Leaks.
