The Aspen Catalog accesses and displays customer information when they are logged in; however, it does so by connecting to the library’s system via Secure API (Application Programming Interface) It is a private connection that requires authorization credentials to limit access. No customer information is stored in Aspen. The vendor, ByWater, has their own Integrated Library System called Koha which does involve saving customer information, but Mountain View Public Library does not use Koha.
