After a complaint has been received by our office it is reviewed and assigned to a Civil Rights Investigator. A appointment is made for the complainant to come into our office and discuss the complaint. As a result of this interview a determination will be made as to whether a full investigation is warranted or not. In either case the complainant is notified in writing as to the reasons for not conducting an investigation or the results of a completed investigation. In the case of a full investigation, Orange County has 120 days to complete the investigation, but may request additional time if needed.
