FAQ

How far in advance of my travel should I be immunized?

To reduce the risk of illness abroad, a healthcare provider should be consulted, ideally 4 to 6 weeks before international travel. Immunizations provide protection for periods of a few months to many years, depending on the type of vaccine. It is essential for every traveler to plan ahead, because some shots are given in a series, many vaccines take time to become effective and certain other vaccines cannot be given at the same time that some medicines are being taken.
