How do I prepare for an Informal Hearing?

REVIEW REAL ESTATE LISTINGS AND RECENT SALES

Select properties of similar style: Ranch (single story), Colonial (2 story), Cape Cod, etc.
Select properties of similar size (square footage)
Select properties of similar age
Select properties with similar amenities or improvements such as garages, decks, basements, or in-ground pools.
Select properties in your neighborhood code.

PROPERTIES WHICH DO NOT MEET THESE CRITERIA SHOULD NOT BE CHOSEN

IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP IN MIND PROPERTIES YOU CHOOSE MUST BE HOMES THAT HAVE SOLD. MARKET VALUE IS BASED ON HOMES THAT HAVE SOLD.

The following locations will have available the new assessments and examples of recent sales activity:

At the informal hearing, you will have the opportunity to summarize information on your property, provide information we may not have, and show sales data. Time is limited for each individual, so we ask that you please be prepared and be as brief as possible.
